On March, 12, we successfully held a “Contemporary ABA Live Demo Workshop” at AP center. This workshop was aimed at helping industry partners to equip better knowledge of how ABA could be commonly applied on treating individuals with ASD. Contemporary ABA is an evidence-based treatment for autism, which cover 5 key areas, including Spontaneous Language and Communication, Play skills, Cognitive and Reasoning Skills, Social Skills and Learning to learn Skills.
More than 60 participants filled the room. Coming from different organizations and schools, participants included clinical psychologists, teachers, social helpers, educators, parents and students.
Kan Wong, AP’s behavioral consultant and speaker of the workshop, said “the live demonstration allows participants to gain better understanding by observing how ABA skills are applied on children with ASD.”
During the second half of the workshop, our behavioral therapists live demonstrated their ABA skills on teaching children with autism, such as learning to learn skill, play skill, cognitive skill and social skill.
Most of the attendees found the workshop practical and appreciated the live demonstration section. Many of those were interested in joining other workshops again in the future.
